Opinions are a Dangerous thing: Art StylesThis isn't about narking on anyone no, infact this is just my own muses really! You could say this is a journal for ENCOURAGEMENT! *SHINES*
I find sticking to one style restrictive if you are a beginning/moderate artist! (even professionals I might say! though I can't speak for everyone)
Having a distinctive look on how your art is done and produced is understandable and its a desire to appear unique to the point some one can just SEE your work and instantly think 'Oh! that's Ten-days!' or something along the line. However, when you are trying to find who you are and what kind of art you are to produce, I recommend trying, well, a lot of different things! Different styles, mixing styles, different colouring techinque, brushes, tools, shading. Don't feel dependant on what you are already doing and don't feel pressured by people just for trying new things!
Push out of your comfort zone. Can't draw hands? don't avoid it! draw the heck out of them! (how else are you going to learn?)

It's really choppy and suuuuuper scribbly because I took like 30 seconds to draw each frame. Please fill in the gaps and gloss over the art with your wonderful imagination! I made it in Windows Movie Maker which is an absolutely evil program =o=

Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me.

Nintendo STEALS Money!Since this has been going around lately, I should probably give my two cents. Basically what it amounts to is that Nintendo has filed Content ID info of their games with YouTube. What this means is that if you upload gameplay video of a Nintendo game, YouTube will automatically monetize that video, put ads on it, a link to where to buy the game, and take the money generated from that video and give it directly to Nintendo. People who do "let's play" videos are, naturally, pissed off because they want to be earning money off their videos, so they're calling Nintendo "thieves" for doing this.
I can see both sides to the story. I can see Nintendo as a corporation wanting to exercise control over their properties. On the other hand, "let's play" videos can often help new gamers find games they otherwise wouldn't have tried.
But here's the thing: Nintendo isn't the first company do this. Both Microsoft and Ubisoft do it already. YouTube has also had a long history of having music videos and

Ok, so this being the first semester of my senior year, I really need to get my act together. Pokemon is a distraction from more important things for me, and I realize as long as it's something I'm thinking about, I will not be putting the most I can into other things. My studio practice needs to take any time I have available, which means it needs to encompass my hobby-drawing as well... it needs to be second nature, and so for the semester I'm thinking... I may not use DA. A lot of you may be upset to hear this, but if you've 'spoken' to me at any real length for the past few months it's something that shouldn't come as a surprise.

I'm not saying I'm quitting DA, deleting my account, dex, gallery, or discontinuing forever... but for the foreseeable future, I need to put all of this on the back burner. I still have a few drawings I may upload of my pokemon (now that I have access to a scanner) but anything more than that... probably not gonna happen, so enjoy the latest update of my sprite dex, it may be all you'll be seeing for a while. <3

I've gone 'through it' a couple times, but I'm at a point where... I haven't decided I've out-grown it, I just feel it doesn't show a great enough yield for me to put so much time into it.

I don't go to school but I plan on going to an online college, so right now I have quite a lot of time on my art. My biggest project right now is working on my dex and region. Since it's like the only project I'm currently working on I put a lot of focus in it and it'll also help me with improving my art skills. After this project I really gotta start focusing on my education and career. Education is important. I need to get my act together, too.

What do you plan on going to school for? This isn't the only reason, but I'm going to get my masters degree in Fine-Arts, with a minor in Art history. Pokemon, I feel, doesn't play a large enough role for me to dedicate o much time and energy to it at this point, so it's something I feel I need to... nudge to the side for now.
