HURRAY!

we got out of school at 11 yesterday cuz of the snow coming down, and so i got working almost since i got home, and it tool almost till 10, homework, and other things in between, but it was LONG!

-about the size of a gold ball (a little larger) i started by mixing the clay to shape the blue body, taking a needle-like tool (i think it's an adaptation to a palette knife) for painting and pressing it in, and splitting it to make the mouth (in lame mans terms) and put black clay in
-then i did his "mast" and set it aside
-then the sides
-then the nose
then the eyes
-then the "deck"
-then the fins

all were attached afterwards

i attached the eyes, then the sides after carving them with a knife i use to cut pears, then i put on the tip deck, the nose, and then the mast, followed by the mast, the nose ring (already baked), and then i added the fins, then the barnacles

it was a long "accurate" process, and he broke a few times

in the oven he tipped over and broke his fin, and the mast got warped (reattached the fin with soft clay, to the warm, semi hard clay, and then cut bits off to reshape the "sail"... also the ring broke, and so i fixed it, and reshaped the edges of the upper ridge on the sides

the middle picture was this morning before redoing the ridge, 'some' of the skin, and then nose ring... you can see what i mean with the ridge on the side "planks"

it was a labor of love FOR BOWREK, and for y'allz, so i'd appreciate not editing these pics or anything, i didnt feel they needed a watermark, DONT make me regret that...
