So things have been pretty cool lately. My painting studio is rocking, and we're working on molding and casting in my sculpture studio. We also went to Philadelphia over the weekend on a sculpture field trip of sorts, stayed in a hostel and went on a bunch of stops. First friday art walk where I met a guy named Rodger LaPelle, who's apparently a cultural icon in Philly, and then we went to Space 1026, the museum, the huge market, and a bunch of studios belonging to friends of our teacher. It was pretty boss.

Now. Something I've told a few of you, and I'm sure others will find this horrifying, but I've been wanting to sort of move on with Pokemon. This isn't to say you'll see an occasional design, and it doesn't mean I'll stop uploading pictures I've promised or that I won't draw pokemon as gift art, and though others follow this trend I won't delete this account and start a new one, so don't worry your heads. I simply feel I've explored and done as much with pokemon, really as possible. I like concepts and thoughtful feedback, and quite honestly, though I love you guys and despite your intentions, it's really hard to get that when from pokemon art. Plus I realize that although I do have a body of work, drawing pokemon isn't much contributing to my overall portfolio.

I'm very grateful to Pokemon however for really practicing me to become an illustator, what I've learned from drawing/inventing them has contributed to my style, but shying away from pokemon will liberate me to explore my own interpretations of characters/nature/and design. This change should really allow me to upload more work here that I can be proud of on many levels. I also hope that people don't stop watching me for this decision, but from feedback I HAVE received, the general consensus seems to be that you guys like me for the way I draw, in addition to what I draw, so I hope to receive continued feedback and fellowship. ;D

Also as many of you have been unfortunate enough to experience, I've been getting very impatient lately with people and their comments, and I feel that came from my frustration with not getting what I want from the work I was doing.

So again, in summation, I'm going to start broadening my illustrations, and honestly I'm excited. I'll be uploading more original character, and I feel this will ultimately improve my body of work.
